Welcome! I’m Leah Roman, a public health consultant and educator in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. After spending a decade in public health, I launched my business in 2013 to bring some flexibility into my schedule and to provide clients with customized services ranging from grant writing to health education program development.
People often refer to me as a “connector”, so it is no surprise that I have reached out to many fellow consultants over the past six years. During those conversations and meetings, I identified a few themes in terms of what we need to be successful. We are looking for peer support. And we are definitely looking for more business and entrepreneurial know-how because for the most part, MPH programs are not teaching you how to run your own business!
In late 2014, I developed a free networking group for public health consultants that is now 70+ members strong. I also facilitate mastermind accountability groups for consultants to help them reach their business and professional goals. My first online course for public health students and professionals who are contemplating consulting launched in February 2019.
You can learn more about my public health journey and consulting services by listening to my interview on the Public Health Epidemiology Careers Podcast.
When I am not working my business, you can find me with my husband and five year old son. We love hiking, legos, and finding new books at the library.
